LONDON VOICE OVER AGENCY
Easy Tiger Voices represents a roster of native London voiceover artists working across every variety of London voice – Received Pronunciation, Estuary, Cockney, Multicultural London English and the clean, neutral London sound that fronts most of British broadcasting. Casting within hours, samples the same day, and a producer who actually answers the phone.
London is the most linguistically varied city in the English-speaking world. Eight and a half million people, over three hundred languages spoken on the streets, and a native accent landscape that shifts from borough to borough. Whatever you cast out of London, it is going to sound familiar to someone watching – which is exactly what brands and broadcasters want.
Historically, London voices have fronted British advertising, news, drama and training content because they carry a particular kind of authority. Polished enough for corporate, colourful enough for character work, and neutral enough to carry a national campaign without locking you into one region. That versatility is the reason most UK voiceover casting briefs start with a London voice as the default, even when the finished piece is going to be heard nationwide.
The other reason is availability. Most of the UK’s professional voice talent lives within an hour of Zone 1. The infrastructure is here – the studios, the sessions, the session players, the directors, the post houses. When you cast out of London you are casting from the deepest pool in the country.
The London Advantage
More working voice artists, more accents, more studios, and more directors live within Zone 1 than anywhere else in the UK. That translates into faster casting, stronger shortlists, and fewer compromises when your brief is specific.
There is no such thing as a single London voice. What outsiders call “the London accent” is actually a family of distinct accents, each with its own history, social register and commercial use. Getting this right on the brief is the difference between a spot that lands and a spot that feels off.
Received Pronunciation still dominates prestige advertising, corporate narration and high-end audiobook work. Estuary – the contemporary, slightly softened middle-ground accent that most younger Londoners actually speak – has replaced RP as the default for commercials and lifestyle brands. Cockney is a character choice, used deliberately and sparingly, still powerful for heritage brands and comedy. Multicultural London English (MLE) has become the most important new voice in UK advertising, especially for brands targeting under-thirties.
We cast across all of them. Most of our London-based artists can move between two or three of these registers, and some can cover all four convincingly. The brief tells us where to aim.
The Four London Voices
RP · Received Pronunciation
RP is the traditional British voice of authority – polished, unhurried, and historically neutral. It still owns luxury, finance, heritage broadcasting and literary audiobook work. Our RP talent delivers contemporary RP, not the clipped pre-war version – warm, professional, confident, and never stuffy. Ideal for investor videos, prestige commercials, documentary narration, and non-fiction audiobook.
Estuary
Estuary is what most working Londoners actually sound like – softer than RP, cleaner than Cockney, recognisably London without being location-specific. It has been the default choice for UK commercials for two decades. Estuary voices read as approachable, modern, credible. Perfect for retail, fintech, consumer brands, and any spot that needs to sound contemporary without sounding regional.
Cockney
True Cockney – the accent of East London, the markets, the docks, the pubs, EastEnders – is now a character voice rather than a general-purpose read. It carries enormous cultural weight and works brilliantly where heritage, authenticity or wit is wanted. Cast Cockney for period drama, character-led advertising, heritage brands, comedy, and anything trading on classic London identity.
MLE · Multicultural London English
MLE is the accent that developed in inner London over the last forty years – shaped by Caribbean, West African, South Asian and working-class London influences, now spoken by Londoners of every background. It is the default voice of UK grime, urban broadcasting, streetwear, and youth advertising. Casting MLE is not a gimmick – it is accuracy for any brand talking to under-thirties in British cities.
The short answer is: almost everything. London voice talent sits behind the majority of professional voiceover output in the UK – TV commercials, corporate training, explainer animation, in-store radio, documentary narration, audiobook, IVR, e-learning, gaming. The talent pool is deep enough that whatever the brief, a London casting can meet it.
Commercials and brand work is where Estuary and MLE dominate. Corporate and e-learning tend to go to neutral Estuary or soft RP. Documentary narration favours RP and mid-Estuary for authority. Audiobook splits by genre – RP for literary and historical fiction, Estuary for contemporary and commercial fiction, Cockney or MLE for character-led first-person narratives. Animation and games pull from the whole range depending on character.
For international clients, a London cast is also the safest way to get a British voice that travels. Estuary and RP are the two accents most readily understood by American, European and Asian audiences – which matters for global brand work and for anything that will be subtitled or localised.
Where London Talent Lands
Most of our London-based voice artists are bi-accent or tri-accent. A voice who grew up in Hackney might record a full-strength MLE read at ten, a neutral Estuary corporate read at eleven, and a soft-RP audiobook chapter at twelve. This is not an anomaly – it is the working reality of professional London voice talent. Acting training, years of session work, and the natural code-switching of London life mean our artists can genuinely move between registers.
This matters for casting. You do not need to pick between “the RP voice” and “the Estuary voice” for every project – you pick the artist whose tone, range and character suits the brief, and together we dial the accent to the exact strength you want. Whether that is full character Cockney, a neutral Estuary at the soft end, or broadcast-standard RP, the artist delivers the strength you specify, not just their comfort register.
Tell us the accent you want at the top of the brief, and tell us how strong. “MLE, authentic, youth-brand” and “light Estuary, professional, fintech” give us very different shortlists from the same roster.
Range And Control
Our London artists work across accent strengths, not just one register. Brief us on the intensity you want and we will match voice to project – subtle regional colour for national reach, or full accent character for authenticity.

Four distinct London accents. RP is the traditional prestige accent – polished, neutral, used for authority and luxury brands. Estuary is the modern, softened London accent most working Londoners actually speak – the default for UK commercials. Cockney is the traditional East London accent, now mainly used as a character voice. MLE (Multicultural London English) is the contemporary London accent shaped by Caribbean, West African and South Asian influences – the default for youth and urban brands.
It depends on the audience and the brand. Prestige and corporate work usually favours RP. Mainstream commercial and lifestyle brands lean Estuary. Heritage, comedy and character-led scripts suit Cockney. Under-thirty and urban-facing brands should seriously consider MLE. If you are not sure, brief us on the audience and brand and we will recommend the register – samples usually decide it in five minutes.
Yes, in most cases. The majority of our London-based artists are bi-accent or tri-accent and can move between, for example, Estuary and soft RP, or MLE and neutral Estuary, within the same session. If you need a single artist to cover multiple accent strengths across one campaign, tell us at the brief stage and we will shortlist accordingly.
Most briefs get a shortlist back the same working day. For standard London commercial and corporate work we can return custom samples of your own script within hours. Rush sessions and same-day final delivery are possible for most of our London roster, subject to artist availability.
No. Most of our London voice artists work from professional broadcast-standard home studios and can record remotely via Source-Connect, ipDTL, Cleanfeed or Zoom-directed sessions. If you prefer a traditional London studio session, we can book that too – from Soho voice booths to the larger Shepherd’s Bush and Battersea post houses – and supply a director if needed.
Yes. London RP and Estuary are the two most internationally-understood British accents and travel well into American, European, Asian and Middle-Eastern markets. We regularly supply London voice talent for global brand work, English-language versions of international campaigns, and multilingual projects alongside our native-speaker roster in Dutch, French, German, Spanish, Italian and more.
Send us your brief and we will come back with a shortlist of London voices, samples of your own script, and a clear quote – no hidden fees, no retainers, no nonsense.
