Why UK brands need Korean voices

Korean is one of the fastest-growing voiceover languages in global content. The international rise of K-drama, K-pop and Korean tech and beauty brands has driven a sharp increase in demand for authentic, native Korean voice talent across advertising, dubbing, e-learning and corporate production. Brands localising into South Korea, and global productions dubbing K-content for international markets, both need native speakers who understand the cultural register as well as the language.

Our Korean talent covers the full commercial range: warm and conversational reads for lifestyle and beauty brands, energetic retail and tech delivery, authoritative corporate and financial narration, character work for K-content dubbing and games, and clean e-learning reads. Every voice on our books is a first-language speaker, most either based in or originally from Seoul, with broadcast, advertising or dubbing training. Korean speech levels and pronunciation are difficult to fake convincingly and any Korean audience will pick up a second-language accent immediately.

Korean accents - Seoul standard and beyond

For almost all commercial, broadcast and corporate work the default Korean register is Seoul-standard Korean, used by national broadcasters, schools and the bulk of the K-content industry. Speech levels are as important as accent in Korean: formal versus informal, polite versus plain, all shift the entire feel of a script and matter as much in a corporate explainer as in a K-drama. Our directors brief talent on the right level, and native speakers will flag where a script needs adjustment to land naturally.

Seoul standard

The standard used by national broadcasters, schools and the bulk of the K-content industry. Includes the formal speech levels needed for honorific corporate and customer-facing scripts. The default for any campaign that needs to feel national rather than regional.

Works for: national advertising, corporate narration, e-learning, explainer video, broadcast.

Gyeongsang (Busan)

The accent of the south-east, including Busan. Distinct intonation pattern, often used in K-content for warm, no-nonsense or comedic characters. Genuine and placeable, used where the brief calls for personality rather than polish.

Works for: character work, comedy and lifestyle advertising, K-content dubbing, regional campaigns.

Jeolla and Jeju

Jeolla-do from the south-west and Jeju from the island. Rarely used in mainstream advertising or corporate work but available where dubbing, character work or regional projects call for a specific southern flavour.

Works for: dubbing, character work, regional dramatic projects.

North Korean

A separate specialism, typically required for documentary or dramatic work. Recognisable intonation, vocabulary differences and a distinct delivery. Sourced on request from specialists who can authentically deliver this register.

Works for: documentary, dramatic dubbing, factual broadcast work.

Dubbing & ADR

Korean dubbing and ADR

We cast and record Korean dubbing across the sync levels a project needs, from rough-sync and time-sync through to full lip-sync, plus ADR and voice replacement, for film, TV, streaming, games and corporate content.

Casting matters as much in a dub as in an original read. An audience hears a mismatched voice immediately, so we match native Korean voices to the on-screen performance, not just the script.

See the full service on our dubbing and ADR page, or read our guide to the difference between dubbing and voice over.

Korean voiceover - FAQs

Always a native speaker. Korean speech levels and pronunciation are difficult to fake convincingly, and any Korean audience will pick up a second-language accent immediately. For any audience-facing work, advertising, dubbing or broadcast, we cast only native speakers. Every voice on our Korean roster is a first-language native speaker.

Rates depend on script length, usage and talent profile. A standard corporate or e-learning Korean read typically starts around GBP 400 to GBP 700. A broadcast TV commercial with South Korea-market usage is quoted on a buyout basis aligned to industry rate cards. Send your script and media plan and we will come back with a fixed quote the same working day.

Most corporate, e-learning and digital projects deliver within 24 to 48 hours of brief approval. Same-day rushes are possible when the talent and studio are available. Larger projects, such as K-content dubbing or game localisation, are scheduled across a production window agreed upfront.

Yes. Most work is delivered in Seoul-standard Korean. We also have artists who can deliver Gyeongsang and other regional accents where the brief calls for it, and dubbing-trained talent for K-drama, K-content and game character work. North Korean accents are available on request for documentary and dramatic projects.

Both work. We can handle Korean translation and copy adaptation as part of the project through trusted Korean localisation writers, or record from an already-translated script approved by your in-market team. The voice artist will always review the script for naturalness before the session.

Corporate, internal communications and e-learning work is licensed in perpetuity for the agreed use. Advertising and broadcast work is quoted with explicit usage covering territory, media and duration. Dubbing and game work is agreed in line with studio standards. Usage is made explicit upfront so there are no surprises at renewal.
