Our roster

Our Flemish Voice Artists

Flemish voices for every register, from warm conversational reads to authoritative corporate narration and character work. Send us your brief and we will recommend the right voice for your project.

Why a Flemish voice

What a Flemish voice does for your brand

Flanders is one of the wealthiest and most media-literate consumer markets in Europe, and its audiences are used to being addressed properly. A Flemish voice reads as direct, grounded and unshowy. Flemish advertising tends to reward understatement and dry wit over hard sell, and a voice that understands that register lands better than one that performs at the audience.

Cast well, a Flemish voice makes a brand sound like it belongs in Flanders rather than like it arrived from somewhere else.

Trust & credibility

Flemish audiences respond to plain, confident delivery. It is the natural register for banking, insurance, healthcare, public sector and anything where a brand needs to be believed rather than admired.

Warmth without gloss

The Flemish conversational read is friendly without being saccharine. It suits retail, food, telecoms and family brands that want to sound human rather than corporate.

Humour that travels

Flanders has a strong tradition of dry, deadpan comedy in advertising. A voice with genuine comic timing in Flemish is worth casting for, and very hard to fake from outside the market.

The full spectrum

Flemish accents & regions we cast

Flemish is not one accent. Flanders covers five provinces and the accents across them are genuinely distinct to a local ear. A neutral standard read carries nationally, while a regional voice signals that a campaign was made for a particular place. Here is how we think about casting it.

Standard Flemish

The broadcast and advertising default, sometimes called VRT Dutch after the public broadcaster. Neutral, clear and understood across all of Flanders. The right choice for national campaigns, corporate film and e-learning.

Antwerp

Belgium’s commercial and creative capital. The Antwerp accent is confident and instantly recognisable, and carries a certain swagger that suits fashion, retail and challenger brands.

Brabant

Flemish Brabant and the Leuven belt. Close to the standard register and the accent most often heard underneath tussentaal, which makes it useful for content that needs to feel conversational but stay broadly neutral.

East Flanders & Ghent

Ghent has its own well-known accent, distinct enough that other Flemings clock it immediately. Strong for heritage, culture, tourism and regionally rooted brand work.

West Flanders

Bruges, Kortrijk and the coast. The most strongly marked of the Flemish accents and the one that reads as most local. Powerful for regional campaigns, and worth handling carefully for national ones.

Limburg

Eastern Flanders. Softer and more melodic than the western accents, often read as gentle and approachable. Suits healthcare, tourism and community-facing content.

Brussels sits outside this map. It is officially bilingual, and content aimed at the capital often needs both a Flemish and a Belgian French version rather than one voice covering both. Tell us the territory and we will advise on whether you need one read or two.

Getting the register right

Standard Flemish, tussentaal or dialect?

Accent is where a voice is from. Register is how formally it speaks. In Flanders these are separate decisions, and getting the second one wrong is the more common mistake. The three sit on a scale, most formal to least.

01 · Most formal

Standard Flemish

The formal broadcast register. Correct for corporate film, e-learning, compliance, healthcare, public sector and anything institutional. Safe, clear and never wrong, though it can feel stiff in casual advertising.

Brief us

02 · Everyday

Tussentaal

The informal middle register that sits between standard Flemish and local dialect, and what a lot of Flemish people actually speak day to day. It makes conversational advertising, social content and youth-facing work sound real rather than scripted.

Brief us

03 · Most local

Dialect

Full regional dialect. Used sparingly, and almost always for character work, comedy or campaigns that are explicitly about a place. It excludes as much as it includes, so it is a deliberate creative choice rather than a default.

Brief us

If you are not sure which your script needs, send it over. Register is usually obvious from the copy within a paragraph or two, and it is a cheaper conversation to have before recording than after.

Dubbing & ADR

Flemish dubbing and ADR

Flanders subtitles most mainstream film and television, so Flemish dubbing concentrates where subtitles will not do the job: children’s and family content, animation, games, e-learning and corporate work. We cast and record Flemish dubbing across the sync levels a project needs, from rough-sync and time-sync through to full lip-sync, plus ADR and voice replacement.

Children’s content is the biggest single category, and the one where casting matters most. Flemish children hear Flemish voices in the content they grow up with, and an imported read is noticed immediately, by them and by their parents.

See the full service on our dubbing and ADR page, or read our guide to the difference between dubbing and voice over.

One casting decision

Do not cast a Netherlands Dutch voice for Flanders

Flemish and Netherlands Dutch share a written standard, so a script can look identical on the page and still sound foreign when it is read. Belgian audiences hear the difference within a sentence, mainly in the softer Flemish g, in everyday vocabulary that simply differs between the two, and in the French-derived turns of phrase that are normal in Belgium and not in the Netherlands.

For a Flanders audience, cast a Flemish voice. If your campaign covers both markets, the usual answer is two reads rather than one compromise. We cover the north too, on our Dutch voiceover page, and we can cast both from one brief.

FAQs

Flemish voiceover, FAQs

Standard Flemish is neutral, broadcast-quality delivery understood across all of Flanders, and it is the right choice for national campaigns. Regional accents carry the characteristics of Antwerp, Brabant, Ghent, West Flanders or Limburg, and can add authenticity for campaigns targeting a specific market. Tell us the audience and we will advise on the right choice.

Tussentaal is the informal middle register spoken in Flanders, sitting between standard Flemish and local dialect. It can make everyday, conversational or youth-focused content feel natural and unstuffy, while formal, corporate and broadcast work usually calls for standard Flemish. It is a tone decision, and we will guide you on which fits your audience.

Yes. We have Flemish voice artists who specialise in character work, comedic delivery and regional dialect, for animation, games, children’s content and anything that needs more than a straight read. Character and dialect casting usually needs a little more lead time than a standard commercial or corporate brief, because the shortlist is narrower and worth getting right. Tell us the character notes and we will cast to them.

Technically yes, functionally no. Belgian audiences recognise Netherlands Dutch accents and delivery patterns immediately, and a Dutch voice in a Belgian ad signals that you did not invest in authentic local casting. For premium brands and serious campaigns it is a missed opportunity, and the perception damage is easy to avoid. If you are reaching a Flemish audience, cast a Flemish voice.

Often, yes. Brussels is officially bilingual, so content aimed at the capital usually needs a Flemish version and a Belgian French version rather than one voice attempting to cover both. We can cast both from a single brief. See our Belgian French page for the other half.

Yes. Some of our Flemish voices are based in the UK with broadcast-quality home studios, giving UK production teams London-hours project management and fast turnaround. Others are based in Belgium. We match the voice to the brief and the production workflow, not the other way round.

Yes. We cast and record Flemish dubbing across rough-sync, time-sync and full lip-sync, plus ADR and voice replacement, most commonly for children’s and family content, animation, games and corporate work. See our dubbing and ADR page for the full service.

Yes. We can arrange translation and localisation into Flemish, adapting for Belgian vocabulary and register rather than delivering a straight Netherlands Dutch translation, so the script sounds native before a voice ever records it. Tell us the source language and we will advise.

Same-day for most briefs. Send us the script, tone notes and target market in the morning and we will typically have two or three voice options back by end of day. Final recorded deliveries are usually within 24 to 48 hours once the voice is selected, faster if the deadline is urgent.

For a standard commercial or corporate job, allow same-day for the audition shortlist, then 24 to 48 hours from voice approval to final delivery. Larger projects take longer in proportion to their scope: multi-voice work, long-form e-learning, dubbing and character casting all add time, mostly at the casting stage rather than the recording stage. Rush sessions are available where a deadline demands it. Tell us the deadline in the brief and we will confirm a schedule up front.

Our Flemish voices work across the main Flemish broadcasters and platforms, including VRT and the commercial networks such as VTM and Play, as well as radio, streaming services and digital campaigns. Belgian broadcasters maintain strict quality standards, and our recordings meet them.

We deliver broadcast-quality WAV as standard, with MP3 versions for review and approval during the process. If your production or broadcaster needs a specific sample rate, bit depth, loudness target or file naming convention, send the delivery spec with the brief and we will record and master to it.

Yes. Send us the script and we will come back with a shortlist of custom-voiced auditions, usually three voices, recorded against your actual script, within 24 hours. No charge, no commitment.
