GEORDIE AND NORTH EAST VOICE TALENT

Geordie Voiceover Artists

Easy Tiger Voices represents genuine Geordie voiceover artists from Newcastle, Gateshead and across Tyneside. The warmest accent in Britain, properly cast – no parody, no soft-Geordie compromise. Used by brands every day for everything from FMCG to factual.

Our Geordie voice artists

A hand-picked roster of authentic Newcastle and Tyneside voices. Each profile has commercial, character and narrative demos with broad and soft takes marked.

Britain's friendliest voice

Year after year, the Geordie accent is voted the most trustworthy and likeable in the UK. That is why it has become the default brand voice for some of the country’s biggest advertisers – the warmth, the rising musicality at the end of phrases, the easy humour all do work that an RP or Cockney voice simply cannot.

Geordie is also one of the easiest accents to fake badly. The vowels are very specific, the rhythm is unusual, and a half-attempted Geordie performance sounds patronising within three words. Every Geordie voice on our roster is born and raised in Tyneside or close enough to count, with a working knowledge of how broad to go for different briefs.

What Geordie voiceover works for

  • Big-brand advertising – FMCG and supermarket TV, lager and pub-chain, bookmaker and football tie-ins, holiday and travel, banking and broadband
  • Factual and drama – reality and factual narration, sports documentary (football, rugby league), true crime set in the North East, travel and food, Newcastle-set audiobooks
  • Games and animation – video game NPCs, animated kids’ content, mascots, branded podcast hosts, YouTube channel narration
  • Charity and public information – the Geordie likeability factor lifts trust messages and behaviour-change campaigns
  • Regional brands – Newcastle United, Greggs-style regional heroes and Tyneside-rooted FMCG

Broad vs soft Geordie - what actually works on air

Geordie sits on a spectrum and the brief should specify where on it the voice needs to land. We routinely send paired auditions so directors can compare.

Broad Geordie

Full Tyneside vowels, distinctive “wor” and “gan” vocabulary, strong glottal stops. Unmistakeable, characterful and brilliant for comedy, ads with personality and any project where the regional identity is part of the proposition.

Works for: comedy and character ads, regional brand work, sports content, drama.

Soft Geordie

Keeps the warmth and musicality but flattens the most distinctive vowels and avoids broad vocabulary. The version you hear on national insurance ads, factual narration and brand content that wants the warmth without the regionalism dominating.

Works for: national insurance and finance, FMCG, factual narration, charity and public information.

Mackem (Sunderland)

Sunderland and Wearside – distinct vowels and vocabulary, often mistaken for Geordie by people outside the North East. The right call for Sunderland-rooted brands and content set south of the Tyne.

Works for: Sunderland and Wearside brand work, regional drama, sport (SAFC, regional rugby).

Wider North East

Voices from the Tyne and Wear belt, Northumberland and County Durham who blend Geordie warmth with a more accessible North East sound. Useful when “North East” is the brief but Newcastle proper is too specific.

Works for: regional FMCG, travel and tourism for the North East, B2B and corporate.

Dubbing & ADR

Geordie dubbing and ADR

We cast and record Geordie dubbing across the sync levels a project needs, from rough-sync and time-sync through to full lip-sync, plus ADR and voice replacement, for film, TV, streaming, games and corporate content.

Casting matters as much in a dub as in an original read. An audience hears a mismatched voice immediately, so we match native Geordie voices to the on-screen performance, not just the script.

See the full service on our dubbing and ADR page, or read our guide to the difference between dubbing and voice over.
