Why UK brands need Hindi voices

Hindi is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world and the most important commercial voiceover language for the Indian market. It is the default audio language for national TV in India, the dominant language of Bollywood, and a critical localisation target for brands, broadcasters and OTT platforms reaching the Indian subcontinent and diaspora. For any Hindi voiceover that has to land with native listeners, casting a true first-language speaker is essential.

Our Hindi talent covers commercial reads for major brands localising into India, corporate and e-learning narration for multinationals with Indian operations, dubbing and OTT work for streamers and post houses, and long-form documentary and audiobook narration. Every voice on our books is a first-language Hindi speaker, most either based in or originally from India and trained in broadcast, advertising or theatre. Where a brief calls for an Indian English read rather than Hindi, we maintain a separate dedicated roster on our Indian English page.

Hindi accents - broadcast standard, Bollywood and beyond

For commercial, broadcast and corporate work the default Hindi register is standard Hindi, the form used by national broadcasters, news channels and most national advertising. Bollywood-style Hindi sits alongside the broadcast standard as a distinct creative register. Regional accent variation is real across the Hindi-speaking states, and Hindi shares vocabulary with Urdu, so the choice between Sanskritised Hindi and Hindustani affects how a script lands.

Standard broadcast Hindi

The form used by national broadcasters, news channels and most national advertising. Clean, polished, paced for broadcast and corporate use. The default for any campaign aimed at the Hindi-speaking belt or India-wide brand work.

Works for: national advertising, corporate narration, e-learning, explainer video, broadcast.

Bollywood-style Hindi

A distinct creative register with poetic vocabulary, theatrical pacing and a cinematic delivery. Instantly recognisable and frequently called for in trailer voiceover, promo work and lifestyle or cinematic brand films. Several of our artists carry feature film and trailer experience.

Works for: trailers, promos, cinematic brand films, lifestyle advertising, OTT marketing.

Regional flavours

Mumbai Hindi has a distinct rhythm blended with Marathi and English influences. Lucknow and the Awadhi-influenced areas carry a more formal, Urdu-tinged elegance often suited to luxury and heritage brands. Delhi sits closest to the broadcast standard.

Works for: regional advertising, character work, luxury and heritage brand campaigns.

Hinglish

Bilingual reads mixing Hindi and English, widely used in urban brand work targeting younger Indian audiences. Casual, current, and the right choice for tech, lifestyle and FMCG brands speaking to metropolitan India.

Works for: urban brand campaigns, tech and lifestyle advertising, social and digital content.

Dubbing & ADR

Hindi dubbing and ADR

We cast and record Hindi dubbing across the sync levels a project needs, from rough-sync and time-sync through to full lip-sync, plus ADR and voice replacement, for film, TV, streaming, games and corporate content.

Casting matters as much in a dub as in an original read. An audience hears a mismatched voice immediately, so we match native Hindi voices to the on-screen performance, not just the script.

See the full service on our dubbing and ADR page, or read our guide to the difference between dubbing and voice over.

Hindi voiceover - FAQs

Always a native speaker. Hindi pronunciation, rhythm and the Urdu-Hindi register choices are immediately audible to any Indian listener. For any audience-facing work, advertising, dubbing or broadcast, we cast only native speakers. Every voice on our Hindi roster is a first-language native speaker.

Rates depend on script length, usage and talent profile. A standard corporate or e-learning Hindi read typically starts around GBP 300 to GBP 600. A broadcast TV commercial with India-market usage is quoted on a buyout basis aligned to industry rate cards. Send your script and media plan and we will come back with a fixed quote the same working day.

Most corporate, e-learning and digital projects deliver within 24 to 48 hours of brief approval. Same-day rushes are possible when the talent and studio are available. Larger projects such as OTT dubbing or audiobooks are scheduled across a production window agreed upfront.

Yes. Most work is delivered in standard broadcast Hindi. We also have artists who can deliver a full Bollywood-style register for trailers, promos and lifestyle work, plus regional flavours such as Mumbai-influenced Hindi and Lucknow-Awadhi elegance. Hinglish reads blending Hindi and English are also widely available.

Both work. Many clients send an English script and ask us to handle Hindi translation and copy adaptation through trusted Indian writers. Others arrive with an already-translated script approved by their in-market team. The voice artist will always review the script for naturalness before the session.

Corporate, internal communications and e-learning work is licensed in perpetuity for the agreed use. Advertising and broadcast work is quoted with explicit usage covering territory, media and duration, in line with UK and international voiceover rate cards. Indian broadcast rights are handled in line with local market practice and made explicit upfront.
