Native Italian voice talent

Italian Voiceover Agency

Easy Tiger Voices is an Italian speakers agency in the literal sense: every voice we represent is a native Italian speaker, cast for commercials, corporate films, documentary, dubbing and broadcast. Based in London, we cast across Italy, Switzerland and the Italian diaspora, matching standard Italian or a specific regional voice to your audience. Fast shortlists, clear rates, and every artist a native speaker.

Why native matters

Native Italian voices, every time

Italian is a language of rhythm. It is built on open vowels and clean syllables, and it rewards a delivery that lets the sentence breathe rather than clipping it into an English cadence. That is the single most common giveaway when a non-native reads Italian: the vowels shorten, the stress lands in the wrong place, and the whole read acquires an accent the client cannot name but can definitely hear.

Italian audiences are also unusually well trained. Italy has one of the largest dubbing industries in the world, and generations have grown up hearing foreign film and television performed by professional Italian voice actors to a very high standard. The effect is an audience with a properly calibrated ear for voice work. A read that would pass unnoticed in some markets gets noticed in Italy, and not favourably.

There is regional character to handle as well. Roman, Milanese, Neapolitan and Tuscan delivery all land differently, and the difference is not subtle to an Italian listener. Standard Italian, the broadcast register you hear on RAI and in national advertising, descends from Tuscan and is what most national and international work should use. Regional voices earn their place when a campaign is genuinely aimed at a city or area.

Every Italian voice on our roster is a native speaker, whether you need the authority of a national broadcast read, the restraint of a luxury brand film, or the warmth of a regional campaign. No second-language artists. No compromises.

Accents we cover

The Italian accents and regions we cover

Italy unified late and its regional identities stayed strong, which is why the country still holds far more vocal variety than its size suggests. A brief from Milan rarely wants the same read as one from Rome, Naples or Turin. These are the reads we are asked for most.

ItalyStandard Italian

The national broadcast register, descended from Tuscan and used across RAI, Mediaset and national advertising. Neutral, clear and understood everywhere. The default for most commercial and corporate work.

ItalyRoman

Warm, direct and characterful, with a distinctive melody that reads as friendly and unpretentious. Popular for lifestyle, food and comedic work where a national voice would feel too formal.

ItalyMilanese & the North

Crisper and faster, closer to standard than most regional accents, and associated with business, finance and fashion. The natural fit for corporate and premium brand work aimed at the north.

ItalyNeapolitan & the South

The most immediately recognisable regional sound in Italy, expressive and musical. Strong for campaigns targeting the south, and for character and drama work.

A Genuine Speciality

Italian Dubbing and ADR

Dubbing is not a niche in Italy, it is the norm. Foreign film and television have been routinely dubbed rather than subtitled for decades, and the country built a professional voice-acting discipline around it, with recognised performers and a craft tradition that has no real equivalent in the UK. Italian audiences therefore arrive with expectations most markets do not have: they expect performance, not narration, and they notice when the timing does not sit under the picture properly.

That matters commercially. If you are localising a brand film, a training series, a streaming title or a corporate library into Italian, a flat read that would be perfectly acceptable elsewhere will feel cheap to an Italian viewer. We cast native Italian voices with genuine dubbing and ADR experience, and we can work to lip-sync, time-matched or free-running delivery depending on what the production needs and what the budget supports.

ItalyDubbing Services

  • Lip-sync dubbing for film and drama
  • Time-matched corporate and e-learning
  • ADR and pick-up sessions
  • Voice matching across a series
  • Script adaptation for timing, not just translation
  • Multi-voice casting for drama and animation

Practical notes

Working in Italian: scripts, timing and budget

The thing that catches most UK productions out is length. Italian typically runs longer than the same copy in English, often by fifteen to twenty-five per cent once translated. A thirty-second English script does not stay thirty seconds in Italian. If the video is already locked, that difference has to come out of the pacing, the copy or the edit, and it is far cheaper to solve before the session than after.

We flag it at brief stage. Send us the English script alongside the Italian, or send the English and let us handle the translation, and we will tell you whether it fits the running time before anyone books a studio. Where it does not, we can adapt the copy so it reads naturally at the length you actually have rather than forcing the voice to rush.

The same applies to numbers, dates, brand names and any English terminology you want left untranslated. Italian has settled conventions for all of these, and getting them agreed in advance avoids the retake that costs more than the original session.

Before you book

Worth checking

  • Running time against the translated script, not the English one
  • Brand and product names – translated, or kept in English
  • Numbers, dates and currency conventions
  • Technical terms your Italian market actually uses
  • Formal or informal address – lei or tu
  • Regional targeting – national standard, or a specific city

FAQs

Italian voiceover, FAQs

For most national campaigns, broadcast and corporate work, standard Italian is the right choice and reads clearly to audiences everywhere. It is the register used on RAI and in national advertising, and it descends from Tuscan rather than belonging to any modern city, which is part of why it reads as neutral. Regional character, whether Roman, Milanese, Neapolitan or Tuscan, comes into play when a campaign is targeting a specific area or wants a particular local flavour. Tell us the target audience and we will shortlist either a neutral national voice or the matching regional delivery.

Yes. A native speaker delivering standard Italian is understood and accepted across the country, which is why national advertising and corporate content usually cast a neutral Italian voice. Where a spot is aimed at a specific city or region, a matching regional voice can lift authenticity and recall. It is a budget-versus-targeting call, and we will advise based on your brief.

Usually not without adjustment. Italian generally runs longer than English, commonly by fifteen to twenty-five per cent, so a script timed to thirty seconds in English will overrun once translated. If your picture is already locked, send us the English script early and we will tell you whether it fits before you book a session. Where it does not, we can adapt the copy so it reads at a natural pace within the time you have, rather than pushing the voice to rush.

Yes. Italy has one of the largest and longest-established dubbing industries in the world, and Italian audiences expect dubbing done to a professional standard because that is what they have always had. We cast native Italian voices with real dubbing and ADR experience for film, television, streaming, animation and corporate content, and we can work to lip-sync, time-matched or free-running delivery depending on the production and the budget.

Yes. Several of our Italian voices are native speakers based in the UK with broadcast-quality home studios, which gives us London-hours project management and fast turnaround for UK production teams. Others are based in Italy. We match the voice to the brief and the production workflow, not the other way round.

Yes. Italian is one of Switzerland’s official languages, spoken in Ticino and parts of Grigioni. For work aimed at that market we can cast a voice with the right delivery for Swiss-Italian audiences, which differs from the mainland Italian standard in pace and in some vocabulary. Tell us the target region and we will shortlist accordingly.

Yes. We can take an English script and return a recorded Italian master, handling the translation, the timing adaptation and the pronunciation decisions along the way. That is usually cheaper and faster than running translation and recording as two separate procurements, because the person adapting the copy knows what the voice has to do with it.

We do not recommend that route. Faked Italian accents performed by non-native speakers rarely pass a native ear, and the mismatch is audible to Italian audiences. Where a script calls for Italian-accented English, we cast a native Italian speaker who reads English naturally. They can deliver anywhere from a light Italian colour to a full accent, matched to your brief.

Same-day for most briefs. Send us the script, tone notes and target region in the morning and we will typically have two or three voice options back by end of day. Final recorded deliveries are usually within 24 to 48 hours once the voice is selected, faster if the deadline is urgent. Translation, where needed, usually adds a day.

Yes. Fashion, luxury, automotive and lifestyle brands each have their own register and pacing, and we represent Italian voices who have worked in these categories. Italy is a global centre for fashion, design and automotive engineering, and casting a voice with the right sensibility matters in sectors where the audience is used to being addressed a particular way. If the brief is specialist, tell us the sector and we will shortlist voices with matching credits.

Pricing depends on script length, usage rights, talent experience and project type. A broadcast commercial with a twelve-month usage term is priced differently from an internal corporate video, and dubbing is priced differently again because of the session time involved. Send us a script or brief and we will send a formal quote. There is no charge to get a shortlist and a price.

Yes. Send us the script and we will come back with a shortlist of custom-voiced auditions, usually three voices, recorded against your actual script, within 24 hours. No charge, no commitment.

Dubbing & ADR

Italian dubbing and ADR

We cast and record Italian dubbing across the sync levels a project needs, from rough-sync and time-sync through to full lip-sync, plus ADR and voice replacement, for film, TV, streaming, games and corporate content.

Casting matters as much in a dub as in an original read. An audience hears a mismatched voice immediately, so we match native Italian voices to the on-screen performance, not just the script.
