Mandarin Chinese is spoken by more than a billion people across Mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore and the global Chinese diaspora. For voiceover work, the differences between Mainland Putonghua and Taiwanese Mandarin are real and they matter. A Beijing-trained presenter sounds different to a Taipei broadcaster, and a Mandarin speaker raised in Singapore brings yet another set of rhythms and vocabulary choices. Cast the wrong variant and your audience hears it immediately.
Our Mandarin talent covers the full commercial range, from warm conversational reads suitable for lifestyle brands to authoritative corporate narration, energetic retail and tech delivery, character work for animation and dubbing, and clean e-learning reads. We handle script localisation, casting, direction, recording and final delivery in whatever spec your post house needs. Mandarin is a tonal language and the difference between a native and a fluent second-language speaker is audible inside ten seconds, so every voice on our books is a first-language speaker.
At a glance
Mandarin is a single language on paper but a family of accents in practice. Most national advertising, broadcast and corporate work asks for Mainland Putonghua based on the Beijing standard, but there is a richer accent landscape underneath, and the right regional voice can lift the right project. Cantonese is a separate language for voiceover purposes and we maintain a dedicated Cantonese roster on its own page.
The Beijing-based standard, used by national news, broadcast and most commercials. Tones are clean, retroflex consonants are pronounced and vocabulary follows simplified-character usage. The default for any campaign that needs to feel national rather than regional in Mainland China.
Works for: national advertising, corporate narration, e-learning, explainer video, broadcast.
A clearly distinct variant. The retroflex sounds soften, the rhythm flattens slightly, and the vocabulary diverges in dozens of everyday words. A Taiwanese viewer will register a Mainland voice in a local ad immediately, and the same applies in reverse.
Works for: Taiwan-market commercials, corporate work targeting Taiwan, broadcast and digital ads.
Carries its own loanwords and intonation patterns. Works well for regional campaigns spanning Singapore, Malaysia and parts of Southeast Asia. Distinct enough from Mainland and Taiwan that audiences in market will hear the difference.
Works for: Southeast Asia campaigns, Singapore-market work, regional brand launches.
A presenter able to credibly hit a register that lands across markets, useful where budget calls for a single read but the campaign runs in multiple Mandarin-speaking territories. We will advise where this works and where you should cast separately.
Works for: multi-market corporate, internal comms, regional explainer video.
Send us your script, tone reference and deadline. We will come back with a focused shortlist of native Mandarin voices, clear rates and availability.

Dubbing & ADR
We cast and record Mandarin dubbing across the sync levels a project needs, from rough-sync and time-sync through to full lip-sync, plus ADR and voice replacement, for film, TV, streaming, games and corporate content.
Casting matters as much in a dub as in an original read. An audience hears a mismatched voice immediately, so we match native Mandarin voices to the on-screen performance, not just the script.
See the full service on our dubbing and ADR page, or read our guide to the difference between dubbing and voice over.

Always a native speaker. Mandarin is a tonal language and the difference between a native and a fluent second-language speaker is audible to any Chinese listener within seconds. For consumer-facing advertising, dubbing and any broadcast use, this is non-negotiable. Every voice on our Mandarin roster is a first-language native speaker.
Rates depend on script length, usage and the artist’s profile. A standard corporate or e-learning Mandarin read typically starts around GBP 350 to GBP 600. A broadcast TV commercial with multi-market usage will be quoted on a buyout basis aligned to industry rate cards. Send the script, the territory and the media plan and we will come back with a fixed quote the same working day.
For most corporate, e-learning and digital projects we deliver final audio within 24 to 48 hours of brief approval. Urgent same-day turnarounds are possible when the talent and studio are available, and we regularly handle rush jobs for broadcast and news. Longer projects such as audiobooks or dubbing are scheduled across a production window agreed upfront.
Yes. Our roster includes voice artists based in or originally from Mainland China, Taiwan and the wider Chinese diaspora. We cast separately for Mainland Putonghua and Taiwanese Mandarin, and we can advise on neutral pan-Mandarin reads where a single version is needed across markets. Singaporean Mandarin is also available for Southeast Asian campaigns.
Both work. Many clients send an English script and ask us to handle Mandarin translation and adaptation as part of the project. Others come with an already-translated script approved by their in-market team. We can recommend trusted Mandarin translators and copy adapters, and we always have the voice artist review the script for natural delivery before the session.
Usage is quoted up front and documented in the booking. Corporate, internal communications and e-learning work is normally supplied on a perpetual non-broadcast buyout. Mandarin TV and radio campaigns are quoted by territory, media and duration, often 12 months with the option to renew. Online and social usage is priced alongside broadcast where relevant.
