NATIVE BRITISH ACCENT VOICE TALENT

UK Regional Accent Voiceover Artists

Easy Tiger Voices represents native British voice talent from every corner of the UK. Brummie, Yorkshire, Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Geordie, Scouse, Cockney, RP and everything in between – cast by a London agency that knows the difference between Bradford and Bristol, and will not put a Mancunian on a Liverpool brief.

Why regional UK voices matter

Britain is one of the most accent-dense countries on earth. Drive an hour in any direction and the voice changes, and any London creative who has cast a regional spot knows how quickly an inauthentic accent kills a script. Glaswegian read by an Edinburgh native, Yorkshire by a Lancastrian, Brummie by a Black Country voice – the audience clocks it inside a sentence and the work stops landing.

We represent native voices from across the UK, with regional range marked clearly on every profile. When a brief calls for Leeds rather than Sheffield, or West Belfast rather than Dublin, we send shortlists from voices who actually grew up there. London production, broadcast-ready delivery, no caricature, no mockney.

  • Documentary and broadcast – BBC, Channel 4 and streaming-platform docs needing geographically grounded narration
  • Drama, games and animation – British screen drama, video game NPCs and characters, audiobook narration with regional characters and dialect
  • Corporate and brand films – regionally headquartered businesses casting voices that reflect their workforce, not generic RP

The UK accent map - regions we cover

Click through to the dedicated page for each accent. Every page has a focused roster, demo selections and a brief on what that accent reads best for. Range and specificity marked on every voice profile.

Brummie – Birmingham and the West Midlands

The accent of Birmingham, Solihull, Wolverhampton and the Black Country. Warm, characterful and globally recognised through Peaky Blinders. Strong for storytelling, charity, automotive and heritage brand work.

Best for: drama, audiobooks, character work, regional retail and challenger brand campaigns.

Yorkshire – Leeds, Sheffield, Bradford, York

Britain’s most trusted regional accent in commercial research, and one of the most varied. Leeds and Sheffield read very differently, and we cast to the specific city, not “Yorkshire” as a blanket.

Best for: banking, building societies, supermarkets, beer, heritage food and any brand selling honesty.

Scottish – Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Highlands

Four distinct major accents and dozens of regional variants. Glasgow reads urban and warm; Edinburgh reads professional and broadcast-neutral; Highland and Island voices carry a softer cadence used widely in tourism and documentary.

Best for: banking, whisky, tourism, energy, public sector and documentary narration.

Welsh – North, South and Welsh-English

South Wales (Cardiff, Swansea, the Valleys) and North Wales (Wrexham, Bangor, Anglesey) sound very different. We cast for both, plus voices fluent in Welsh-language delivery for S4C and bilingual campaigns.

Best for: Welsh Government, S4C, tourism, rugby and sport, energy, agriculture, devolved public sector.

Irish – Dublin, Cork, Belfast, regional

Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland accents are routinely confused by outside ears, with predictable consequences when you cast wrong. We cover Dublin, Cork, Galway and the West, plus Belfast, Derry and Northern Ireland Protestant and Catholic registers.

Best for: Guinness-tier global brands, tourism, food and drink, drama, animation and audiobooks.

Geordie – Newcastle and the North East

The accent of Newcastle, Gateshead and Tyneside, with Sunderland and Durham as distinct neighbouring sounds. Warm, characterful and one of the most-requested regional accents for friendly brand work.

Best for: retail, banking, friendly FMCG, drama, podcast hosting and game character work.

Scouse – Liverpool and Merseyside

Liverpool English is unmistakable and frequently parodied, which makes authentic casting all the more important. Range from old-school dockers’ Scouse to contemporary Liverpool city-centre voices.

Best for: football and sport, drama, music documentary, comedy, retail with a Northern slant.

Cockney and East London

Traditional Cockney, contemporary Estuary English and Multicultural London English (MLE) are three different sounds, all routinely lumped together. We split them out properly.

Best for: London-set drama, true crime, gangster film, gaming, youth-targeted streetwear and London ad work.

RP and neutral British

Received Pronunciation – still the default for international corporate, luxury and broadcast-neutral work. We cover traditional RP, contemporary RP and broadcast-neutral British.

Best for: luxury, finance, corporate, international B2B, documentary narration, audiobooks.

Other UK regional

Mancunian, Bristolian, West Country, Cornish, Estuary Essex, East Midlands, North Wales English – all on roster, all marked. If the brief calls for a specific town or region, send it through and we will pull a focused shortlist.

Best for: regionally specific drama, audiobook character work, documentary, true crime and place-based brand campaigns.

Casting authentic vs casting clichéd

Three things separate well-cast regional voiceover from the kind that makes the audience cringe and switch off:

City over region

“Scottish” is not a brief. Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness all read very differently. We cast to the city or sub-region, never the country in the abstract, and we will tell you if the script reads as one thing but should be voiced as another.

Native, not adjacent

An RP actor “doing Yorkshire” is obvious to a Yorkshire ear, and unfortunately the audience contains plenty of those. Every voice on our regional roster grew up there. Where range is involved, we mark the boundaries clearly so you know what is in their natural reach.

Range marked, not assumed

A voice who can deliver Cardiff, Swansea and a London-broadcast-neutral read is more useful than one locked into a single register. Every profile shows bidialectal range and accent boundaries up front, so you can plan an idents/promo/long-form mix without recasting halfway through.

How to brief us

Send us your script, tone reference, target region and deadline. We will come back with a focused shortlist drawn from native voices in the right city or county, with rates and availability.

  • Target audience – which UK region or nation the work is aimed at
  • Accent specificity – city, county or broader regional read
  • Tone – warm and characterful, broadcast-neutral, drama-led, comedy-led
  • Media, usage term and deadline

UK regional voiceover - FAQs

Every major UK regional accent and most sub-regional variants: Brummie, Yorkshire, Scottish (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Highland), Welsh (North and South), Irish (Republic and Northern Ireland), Geordie, Mackem, Scouse, Mancunian, Cockney, Estuary, MLE, RP, West Country, Bristolian, East Midlands and more. If the brief calls for a specific town or region, ask us and we will pull a shortlist of native voices.

Yes. Every voice on our regional roster is from the city or region they are listed for. We do not put RP actors on regional briefs and we do not let voices stretch outside their genuine range. Where a voice is bidialectal we mark the boundaries clearly so you know what they can and cannot deliver.

That is the default. Glasgow reads very differently to Edinburgh, Leeds to Sheffield, Cardiff to Swansea. Send the brief and we will cast to the city or sub-region rather than the country or county.

Fees are driven by usage rather than accent. A web video is cheaper than national TV, which is cheaper than worldwide campaigns. Send the script, media plan and term and we will quote within the working day.

Yes. We run sessions over Source-Connect, Cleanfeed, Zoom or Teams every week with US, European and Asian clients directing live into our London booth.

Standard turnaround is twenty-four hours from script approval. For urgent ads or news-led work we regularly turn jobs in two to three hours.

Yes. We have native Welsh-language voices for S4C and bilingual campaigns, and native Scottish Gaelic and Irish-language speakers on roster. Brief us with the target language and we will shortlist accordingly.
