Our roster

A Selection of Our Welsh Voice Artists

Welsh-accented English for UK campaigns, and fluent Cymraeg speakers for Welsh-language work. Send us your brief and we’ll recommend the right voice for your project.

Why native matters

Native Welsh voices, every time

The Welsh accent has a musicality that most British accents do not, a rise and fall that holds attention without ever sounding hard sell. It reads as warm and credible at the same time, and because Welsh voices are still under-cast in commercial work, a Welsh read stands out in a break full of standard southern English. But Wales is not one accent. A Cardiff voice does not land like a Valleys voice, and North Wales sounds different again. Every Welsh voice on our roster is a native speaker – no approximations, no learned accents – whether you need neutral Welsh English for a UK-wide brand, a specific regional sound for a local campaign, or a fluent Cymraeg speaker for Welsh-language broadcast.

Accents we cover

The Welsh accents and regions we cover

WalesCardiff & the Southeast

Urban, contemporary and closest to neutral. The usual choice for national brand work that still needs to sound Welsh.

WalesThe South Wales Valleys

The strongest, warmest and most instantly recognisable Welsh sound, shaped by the industrial communities of the valleys.

WalesNorth & West Wales

Softer consonants and a different rhythm across Gwynedd, Conwy, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. The heartland of Welsh speakers.

WalesNeutral Welsh English

Clear and articulate with a light Welsh colour. Adds personality to UK-wide work without marking the read as regional.

A Genuine Speciality

Welsh Language Voiceover – Cymraeg

Few voiceover agencies can offer native Cymraeg talent, and demand keeps climbing. Wales has its own Welsh-language broadcast ecosystem in S4C and BBC Radio Cymru, the Welsh Language Standards oblige public bodies to deliver services in Welsh, and the Welsh Government’s Cymraeg 2050 strategy is pushing towards a million speakers. That means bilingual campaigns are now the default across government, health, education, transport and an increasing number of commercial brands. Cymraeg work needs more than fluency: it needs broadcast experience, and it needs mutation and pronunciation handled correctly by someone who grew up with the language. We represent professional voice artists who work in Welsh every week – not English speakers reading phonetically – and we provide translation and pronunciation guidance alongside the recording.

Welsh dubbing and ADR session at Easy Tiger Voices

Dubbing & ADR

Welsh dubbing and ADR

We cast and record Welsh dubbing across the sync levels a project needs, from rough-sync and time-sync through to full lip-sync, plus ADR and voice replacement, for film, TV, streaming, games and corporate content.

Casting matters as much in a dub as in an original read. An audience hears a mismatched voice immediately, so we match native Welsh voices to the on-screen performance, not just the script.

See the full service on our dubbing and ADR page, or read our guide to the difference between dubbing and voice over.

FAQs

Welsh voiceover, FAQs

Yes. We represent professional native Cymraeg voice artists for broadcast, commercial, public sector and corporate work, including S4C and BBC Radio Cymru content, Welsh Government material and educational projects. We also provide script translation and pronunciation guidance to broadcast standard. Our Welsh-language talent are native speakers, not English speakers reading phonetically.

They are two different jobs. A Welsh accent voiceover is English delivered by a Welsh speaker, which is what most UK commercials and corporate films need. A Welsh-language voiceover is the script performed in Cymraeg, which is what S4C, BBC Radio Cymru and bilingual public sector campaigns need. Some artists do both, many do only one. Tell us which you need, or both if you are producing matched English and Welsh versions.

For UK-wide brand work, neutral Welsh English or a Cardiff voice reads clearly to everyone while still sounding distinctly Welsh. For campaigns aimed at Wales specifically, a Valleys or North Wales accent lands harder because it sounds local rather than borrowed. Tell us the target audience and we will shortlist either a neutral read or the matching regional delivery.

Yes, and it is one of the most common briefs we get. Public bodies in Wales operate under Welsh Language Standards, so a great deal of government, NHS, local authority, education and transport content has to exist in both languages. We can cast one bilingual artist to deliver both versions for a consistent sound, or two voices where the brief calls for different reads. We handle the translation and timing so the two versions match.

Yes. We can translate English scripts into Welsh and advise on pronunciation, mutation and timing before the session. Welsh place names, personal names and technical terms are where most non-Welsh productions come unstuck, so if you have a script with any of those in it, send it over and we will flag anything that needs a decision before recording.

Yes. Several of our Welsh voices work in long-form narration – audiobooks, documentary, podcasts and factual series – in English and in Welsh. Long-form is a different skill from commercial reads, so we shortlist from the artists with the stamina and consistency for it. See our audiobook narration page for how we handle full-length projects.

Standard turnaround is 3-5 working days from final script approval. Rush projects of 24 to 48 hours are possible depending on talent availability and script length. Welsh-language work sometimes needs an extra day for translation and pronunciation checks. Tell us your deadline in the brief and we will confirm availability and delivery dates.

Pricing depends on script length, usage rights, talent experience and project type – a broadcast commercial is priced differently from a corporate video. Welsh-language work may carry a translation cost on top. Send us a script or brief and we will send a formal quote. There is no charge to get a shortlist and a price.

Yes. Send us the script and we will come back with a shortlist of custom-voiced auditions, usually three voices, recorded against your actual script, within 24 hours. No charge, no commitment.
