What to Look for in a Voiceover Agency (And Why We Do Things Differently)

Most voiceover agencies operate the same way they did twenty years ago. We looked at the model, decided some things needed changing, and built Easy Tiger Voices around what actually works for clients and voice talent alike. Here is what we think you should ask before you work with any agency – including us.

A curated roster beats a bloated directory

Some agencies list hundreds of voices. The logic seems sound – more choice means more chance of finding the right voice. In practice, it usually means a lot of mediocre options buried under a handful of good ones, and no real curation happening at any stage.

A smaller, deliberately chosen roster means every voice on the list is there because someone has listened, evaluated, and decided they are genuinely good. That is a better use of your time as a client, and it reflects better on the voices themselves.

We keep our roster tight on purpose. That will change as we grow – but quality will always come before numbers.

Worth asking any agency

How do voices get on your roster?

If the answer is vague, that tells you something. A proper application and audition process is the baseline. Open directories with no vetting are not agencies – they are marketplaces.

Transparency about process and pricing

Voiceover pricing does not need to be opaque. Rates vary based on usage, length, turnaround and talent – all of that is fair and explainable. What is not fair is being vague about it, or making clients feel they need to commit before they understand what they are paying for.

We have no interest in that approach. If you ask us what something is likely to cost, we will give you a straight answer or tell you honestly what information we need before we can.

A simple test

Does the agency talk straight?

Getting a clear, direct response to a pricing question early on tells you a lot about how the rest of the project will go. Evasiveness at the first conversation rarely improves later.

Direct communication, not layers of account management

At larger agencies, the person you speak to at the start is often not the person managing your project, who is also not the person briefing the talent. Each handover is a place where something gets lost.

We are a smaller, more direct operation. The people you deal with at Easy Tiger Voices are the people making the decisions. That means faster responses, fewer misunderstandings, and a simpler process from brief to delivery.

Being new also means we are not carrying ten years of legacy process. We can be responsive in a way that larger, more established agencies often cannot.

Size is not always an advantage

Newer can mean faster

Established agencies carry overhead, hierarchy and process for its own sake. A leaner operation with the right talent and a clear brief can often move more quickly and with less friction.

Talent should be treated properly too

The quality of an agency’s output depends entirely on the quality of the talent it works with. Agencies that undervalue their voices – through poor rates, unclear briefs or no feedback process – end up with a roster of people who are not invested in doing their best work.

We take the application process seriously. We listen to demos properly. We give honest feedback. The relationship between agency and voice talent should work for both sides – and when it does, clients get better results.

Easy Tiger Voices talent

Application, not open access

Every voice on our roster has been through a proper review. We are selective by design – and we are always open to hearing from professional voice artists who want to work with an agency that takes the craft seriously.

We are new - and that is part of the point

Easy Tiger Voices launched because we thought there was a better way to run a voiceover agency. Not a dramatically different one – the fundamentals of good casting, clear communication and professional delivery are not broken. But the culture around some of those fundamentals needed updating.

We are building a reputation rather than trading on one. That means every project matters to us, every client relationship is taken seriously, and we are not running on autopilot because we have always done it this way.

If you want to work with an agency that is paying attention, we would like to hear from you.

Tell us about your project and we will come back to you with honest advice on casting, timelines and budget – no obligation.
